(Versio Rotae Vitae in Motus) When the Light and Glory of God shines into the soul through the visitation of the Holy Spirit, and the lost twin of [[5- Wisdom]] is recreated, then Jesus the Christ, the Savior and Redeemer visits the soul and addresses the five Dhyani Buddhas: “There are two extremes that must be avoided by those who have adopted the religious life. What are these two? They are the infidels who believe nothing and say what will enrich their own fortunes—they are uncaring, self-absorbed, vain, callus and profane. These are the ones who believe that they can manipulate or control God. The other extreme is the path of idolaters who believe they possess God or all prayer and wisdom in a person, place, thing, or text—they are hard hearted, self-absorbed, vain, remorseless, and blasphemous. These are those who pretend to be the sole agents of God on this world. Avoiding both of these extreme is [[the Middle Way]] practiced by the Mystics and Saints—producing vision and insight—this is the path to peace that passes all understanding, to insight into the Divine, to illumination, and to freedom from sin. “What is the Middle Way practiced by the Mystics and Saints—producing vision and producing insight—the path to peace that passes all understanding, to insight into the Divine, to illumination, and to freedom from sin? It is the eight hanhagot (spiritual practices) of Living God: Salvation (through Christ Alone by Grace Alone through [[1- Faith]] Alone for the Glory of God Alone), Hitbodedut (Meditation: Avodah Be-Bittul/Meditation, Gerushin/Repetition, Kavvanah/Attention, Tefillah/Prayer), Musar (Inspirational Reading)/ Lectio Divina (Divine Reading), Tzedakah (Generosity), Gemilut Chesed (Loving-Kindness and Brachot/Daily Recitation of 100 Blessings), Pitron Chalomot (Dream Interpretation), Teshuvah (Self-Perfection), and Liturgy (Shabbat/Sabbath and Holy Days). This is the Middle Way practiced by the Mystics and Saints—producing vision and producing insight—the path to peace that passes all understanding, to insight into the Divine, to illumination, and to freedom from sin “Now this is the truth of Ignorance and Error: it is impossible for us to express a transcendent truth or experience in words that cannot be misunderstood. We are not without witness to that which is beyond our words. We find God “In the [[01- Via Positiva]]. In awe, wonder, and mystery of nature and all beings, each of whom is a ‘[[Word of God]],’ a ‘mirror of God that glistens and glitters,’ as Hildegard of Bingen put it. This is Path One.”:13 The dark side of the first path is when it leaves [[the middle way]] and is pulled to one of the two extremes of religious life, then it becomes error and enshrines our ignorance into a so-called holy way of life. “Now this is the truth of the origin of Ignorance and Error: ‘No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.’:15 ‘And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne witness of me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him you believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And you will not come to me, that you might have life.’:16 ‘It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes unto me. Not that any man has seen the Father, save he which is of God, he has seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me has everlasting life.’:17 We find God "In the [[Via Negativa]]. In darkness and nothingness, in the silence and emptying, in the letting go and letting be, and in the pain and suffering that constitute an equally real part of our spiritual journey. This is Path Two.":18 ‘Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.’:19 The dark side of the second path is when it leads to nihilism or idolatrous obsession with pain and suffering or when it teaches us to ignore the pain and suffering of ourselves and others, then it becomes error and enshrines our ignorance into a so-called holy way of life. “Now this is the truth of the possibility of illumination (enlightenment/ wisdom): ‘If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.’:21 ‘But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.’:22 ‘But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me: And you also shall bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning. These things have I spoken unto you, that you should not be offended.’:23 ‘I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.’:24 We find God “In the [[Via Creativa]]. In our generativity we co-create with God; in our imaginative output, we trust our images enough to birth them and ride them into existence. This is Path Three.”:25 The dark side of the third path is the rejection of the images of faith as mere flights of fancy without meaning or power rendering the work of the prophets and mystics fruitless, or the clutching onto these images as idols to be reverenced in the place of God, then it becomes error and enshrines our ignorance into a so-called holy way of life. “Now this is the truth of the Middle Way leading to Illumination (D'vekut/Unity with God) and the End to Ignorance and Error: the eight hanhagot (spiritual practices) of Living God—Salvation (through Christ Alone by Grace Alone through Faith Alone for the Glory of God Alone), Hitbodedut [twddwbth] (Meditation: Avodah Be-Bittul/Meditation, Gerushin/Repetition, Kavvanah/Attention, Tefillah/Prayer), Musar (Inspirational Reading)/Lectio Divina (Divine Reading), Tzedakah (Generosity), Gemilut Chesed (Loving-Kindness and Brachot/Daily Recitation of 100 Blessings), Pitron Chalomot (Dream Interpretation), Teshuvah (Self-Perfection), and Liturgy (Shabbat/Sabbath and Holy Days). We find God “In the [[Via Transformativa]]. In the relief of suffering, in the combating of injustice, in the struggle for homeostasis, for balance in society and history, and in the celebration that happens when persons struggling for justice and trying to live in mutuality come together to praise and give thanks for the gift of being and being together. This is Path Four.”:28 “Reverence arises, devotion arises, vision arises, insight arises, peace that passes all understanding arises, insight into the Divine arises, illumination arises, and freedom from sin arises. This is the truth of Ignorance and Error. This is the truth of Ignorance and Error to be comprehended. This truth of Ignorance and Error has been comprehended. This is the truth of the origin of Ignorance and Error. This is the truth of the origin of Ignorance and Error to be abandoned. This truth of the origin of Ignorance and Error has been abandoned. This is the truth of the possibility of illumination (enlightenment/ wisdom). This is the truth of the possibility of illumination to be directly experienced. This truth of the possibility of illumination has been directly experienced. This is the truth of the Middle Way leading to Illumination (D'vekut/Unity with God) and the End to Ignorance and Error. This is the truth of the Middle Way leading to Illumination and the End to Ignorance and Error to be developed. This truth of the Middle Way leading to Illumination and the End to Ignorance and Error had been developed. “And Dhyani Buddhas of this soul, as long as my visitation—with its three rounds and twelve insights into the four holy truths of faith—is not purely realized do not claim Illumination (D'vekut/Unity with God) unexcelled in the cosmos by the angels and demons. But as soon as my visitation—with its three rounds and twelve insights into the four holy truths of faith as they are—is truly and purely realized then claim Illumination (D'vekut/Unity with God) unexcelled in the cosmos by the angels and demons. This visitation arose unprovoked and uncaused in the soul of my child, this is the new birth. ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be born again. The wind blows where it lists, and you hear the sound thereof, but can not tell whence it comes, and whither it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.’”:37 That is what the Savior said. Filled with joy, the five Dhyani Buddhas delighted his words. Then to all of their sight the wheel of the year, the great wheel of life appeared before them. In it was inscribed, “All that is stained can be washed clean.” When Jesus Christ the Savior set the Wheel of Life into motion, the ministering spirits cried out: “Blessed be God, the author and finisher of salvation, for in this soul a mighty deed has been performed. The Wheel of Life has been set into motion, no priest, contemplative, angel, or devil can stop it.” On hearing the ministering spirits, the angels, archangels, saints, and even the lords of death cried out: “Blessed be God, the author and finisher of salvation, for in this soul a mighty deed has been performed. The Wheel of Life has been set into motion, no priest, contemplative, angel, or devil can stop it.” So in that moment, at that time, and every time a soul is visited through the Holy Spirit, the whole of the cosmos rejoices, and the Light of God shines brighter into the darkness. The Savior and Healer said to the soul, “Do you see your light shining?” And the soul responded, “It is a mirror to [[the Light of God]].” Bibliography Fox, Matthew. (1991).
