The eyes and the ears know beauty when they do not turn away and are drawn in by the sight or sound. The heart knows goodness because it heals, sustains, and creates and does not injure, impair, or mar. Emptiness gives rise to being. Being hollows itself to emptiness. The flow from one to another is life. One thing is difficult because another is easy. Another is easy because the other is hard. Practice softens the contrast. No one knows far if there is no close. High and low contrast each other. The singer and the instrument melt into the song. The one who steps forward is not the leader. Those who sit are not left behind. The last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Awenydd ^[An Awenydd is an inspired one, a prophet, seer, mystic, or poet who is filled with Awen.] ride the flow. They do not make the wind, nor do they capture its force. They move as the motion, speak as the voice, sing as the song. They are the wave and the water, the breath and the air, the body and the soul. The Awenydd creates without ownership, not seeking recognition or gain for the work flows through them. The work testifies to their credit. It arose through them, and without them it would not arise. --- Back | Book | Forward :-- | :--: | --: [[1- The Mystery of Awen]] | [[0- The Book of Awen\|The Book of Awen]] | --
