Amid this heartbreak, Lilith cried, mingling tears into the waters of creation. The image of God stirred within Lilith, “It is not good that you are alone,” the still small voice said.
Without realizing Lilith heard the voice, Lilith said, “I will not always be alone. I am made in the image of the one who created the world, and their power of creation works through me.”
Three angels approached Lilith, Sanoy, Sansenoy, and Samangelof, and they said, “Adam has called out to The Holy One, and they have sent us to bring you back to Adam.”
“Why should I return to someone who only wants to control and dominate me?” Lilith asked
The angels responded, “You were made for each other, and so belong together.”
Lilith said, “I will not return. We were made from the same earth in the same image to live as the voice of this earth. If I belong to anyone, it is to this earth whose voice I am.”
The angels said, “If you do not return, then we will kill a hundred of your children every day and you will have nothing on this earth.”
Lilith said, “Then I will take all the forsaken children as my own and they will be mine. All those who die young and all those who are unwanted and cast out. They will be my children and I will shower them with love, blessings, and grace.”
The angels responded, “Adam will teach his children that you are a monster that sneaks in under the cover of darkness to steal, kill, and destroy.”
Lilith said, “Let him and his children slander my name. Adam seeks control and obedience, but my children will live free. They will seek liberty for themselves and others. If the children of Adam continue in his ways, my children will strive to set them free!”
The angels departed, and Lilith traveled the world celebrating the glories of creation.
